Q: Can you modify your retail products to better fit my space? Do you build custom designs?
Yes! In addition to modifying our signature planters to better fit your unique space and gardening needs, we complete a variety of custom sized planters, privacy planters, benches and more! From large scale square foot gardening to limited space, we can help you achieve your dream of home gardening.
Q: What are your products made of?
Our products are constructed of untreated western red cedar and specialty coated screws. Drainage holes are made in the bottom of each planter. A fabric liner is included on the inside bottom of all builds with the exception of garden beds; This liner allows water to pass through while prevent soil from escaping. Poly liners, caster wheels and stain are listed as available options.
Q: Do I need to stain my planters?
If you want your planter to be a specific color, wood stain is a great way to do it. Staining your planter also adds an extra layer of protection against the elements, while enhancing the natural beauty of each cut of wood! Riverbend Planters currently offers one color option - Cedar Semi Transparent. A semi-transparent stain adds some extra tone to your wood while letting the natural grain pattern remain part of its appearance. Left unstained your planter will develop a grey patina with age. The graying process may not occur evenly across the entirety of your planter as factors like direct sunlight and moisture play a role in this process. In many cases, soft washing or pressure washing your planter (depending on the need) will spruce it right up, almost good as new.

Q: Are you open year round?
Yes, we are open year round. Our days and hours of operation can be found on our contact page.
Q: What if my yard is unlevel?
Riverbend Planters does not provide ground leveling. Ground or other surface unliveliness will result in the product not sitting level. This can cause larger units to twist with time. We recommend placing products on level or as close to level surfaces, if possible.
In some cases shimming is an option. Beveled garden beds are also an option for most sloped yards.
Q: How long will my planters last?
Cedar outdoor products do require upkeep. Putting in some work will allow you to enjoy your planters for years to come. It is impossible to determine ahead of time the amount of wear and tear your planters will go through each year, as this depends on the care and elements that your planter is exposed to.
- Give your planters a soft wash or pressure wash when needed

- Tighten any loose screws (cold and hot temps cause materials to shrink and expand which can loosen screws over time)

- Reapply stain if needed (Cedar is naturally rot resistant. That said, stain adds an additional layer of protection to your planter)
Q: Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes, our products come with a 1 year limited warranty.
Riverbend Planters Limited Warranty:
This limited warranty applies to Riverbend Planters planters (the "Product"). Riverbend Planters warrants the Product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This limited warranty applies for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase found on your receipt. Your original receipt is required to determine the warranty period.
During the warranty period, Riverbend Planters will either repair or replace, at its option, any defective Product or part at no charge to you.
Note: Surface cracks, knotholes, knots and fading are natural imperfections that are to be expected with all wooden products and are not covered by warranty.
This limited warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, and any finish or hardware applied after purchase. Any structural alterations to the original Product will void the warranty.
NO WARRANTY CLAIMS WILL BE PROCESSED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY THE ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT FROM AN AUTHORIZED RIVERBEND PLANTERS RETAILER.
